A film entitled Dasepo Naughty Girls suggests to me a certain cinematic demographic, put another way, a collection of film fans who don’t get out that often. What it doesn’t suggest is sexually transmitted diseases, an absence of nudity, bubblegum pop karaoke numbers and poverty personified. In Lee Je-Yong’s latest movie we are faced by just that, yes you read me right, a complete absence of nudity, nakedness and over exposed fleshy bits. Dasepo Naughty Girl does examine schoolgirls, in schoolgirl uniforms no less, but things aren’t exactly what they seem at No Use High. Girls are boys, one-eyed loners are teased for being virgins, classmates break into song every five minutes and head teachers are monsters, quite literally it would seem, of the evil snake like dragon variety.
